Dry rubs provide a fast, flavorful coating for all kinds of meats -- and this rub is no exception. Sprinkled with rosemary, thyme, garlic, black pepper and a hint of lemon peel, this meat rub offers an earthy, herby and robust nuance to each succulent bite.

Directions:

1. Rub rosemary and thyme between palms into a small bowl. Add remaining ingredients and stir well.
2. Rub onto outside of meat before cooking. (The longer you leave it on, the stronger the flavor; if you like, rub into meat and hour or so before cooking and then refrigerate the meat.)
