INGREDIENTS
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 9-inch pie shell
- 1/2 cup pecan halves
Pecan Pie
This healthier version of pecan pie uses no corn syrup and less butter than is traditional. It also includes almond extract (for fun and to complement the nuts) in place of vanilla extract.

Makes one 9-inch pie.
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Beat eggs. Add sugars, butter, extract, spices, salt, and flour. Mix well. Stir in chopped pecans. Pour into crust. Arrange pecan halves on top of the pie, around the perimeter.
Bake until set, about an hour.
Chef Suggestions
Feel free to substitute vanilla extract in place of almond extract.
