Bouquet Garni
This French blend was originally wrapped in parsley and tied with a kitchen string to be hung over the cooking pot for easy removal. You can wrap yours in cheesecloth and tie, or use a handy tea ball or muslin tea bag.
· Add to the liquid broth when making soups, especially vegetable varieties.
· Use as the basis for gravy or sauce.
· Add to beef or vegetable stews.
· Add to any simmering savory recipe, like stewed tomatoes or spaghetti sauce.
· Include in the water when boiling potatoes or onions.
The ingredients: Celery, parsley, rosemary, thyme and bay leaf.
