Chili Powders and Chili Seasoning

Chili powder was invented by Americans in the southwest to recreate Aztec flavor. Use Chili Powder or Chili Seasoning to make scrumptious chili, of course, but also add it to grains, egg and cheese dishes, seafood, anyplace you want to really spice things up! Chili powder : Chili peppers, silicon dioxide (an anti-caking agent).

Chili powder blend extra spicy : Chili peppers (contains silicon dioxide, an anti-caking agent), cumin, dehydrated garlic, red pepper (cayenne) and oregano.

Chili seasoning : Chili peppers (contains silicon dioxide, an anti-caking agent), dehydrated onion, corn flour, paprika, cumin, dehydrated garlic, parsley, oregano and celery seed.

Southwest chili blend : Chili peppers (contains silicon dioxide, an anti-caking agent), cumin, salt, dehydrated garlic and oregano.

Using Chili Powder & Chili Seasoning

· Add to chili early on, so the flavors can meld

· Use to create barbecue sauces for meat, poultry, fish, tofu, or seafood before cooking.

· Add to egg and cheese dishes, like omelets and quiche.

· Use in bean soups, bean side dishes, and bean salads.

· Add to grains, like rice or quinoa, for a tasty side dish.

· Rub or sprinkle on meats or poultry before roasting or frying (wear gloves and be careful not to touch your face).

· Use in recipes for tacos, enchiladas, and any Mexican or Tex-Mex dishes.

· Use to wake up spaghetti sauce.

· Add to stews and soups.

· Add to hamburger or bean or veggie burgers and meatloaf or nut or bean loaf.

   

· Use to enliven snack mixes (with nuts, pretzels, and cereal, for example).

· Add to cream base (sour cream/mayo/yogurt) for instant Mexican dip.

· Add to cooked, mashed beans for refried beans.
