Mulling Spice

Wrap your hands around a mug of warm, mulled cider for reassurance on a frigid winter evening, a brisk autumn afternoon--or even a cool summer morning.
Keep a pot of cider and mulling spice simmering on the stove--or in a crockpot--to provide your home with a welcome-home aroma. Greet guests and family members with a tart, spicy-special beverage.
Directions: Simply combine the beverage with the spices (in a piece of cheesecloth, a little muslin bag, or a tea ball) and warm on the stovetop.
Suggested Uses:
- Use to mull cider or juice (apple, but also cranberry, raspberry, etc.).
- Add to your favorite hot tea.
- Add to eggnog or wine, beer, or hot rum.
- Combine 2 cups milk, 1 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon mulling spice in a small saucepan. Gently warm. Remove from heat. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Stir with a cinnamon stick and serve
