Ingredients: ORGANIC FAIR TRADE CERTIFIED™ CANE SUGAR, ORGANIC BROWN RICE FLOUR, ORGANIC FAIR TRADE CERTIFIED™ COCOA POWDER (PROCESSED WITH ALKALI), BAKING SODA, ORGANIC TAPIOCA STARCH, XANTHAN GUM, SEA SALT.
Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease bottom of 8” cake pan.
2. Combine eggs (slightly beaten), water and butter in a mixing bowl. Add contents of package.
3. Stir until just evenly moist.
4. Pour into prepared cake pan.
5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until center tests done with a toothpick or knife. Cake should begin to pull away from sides of pan.
6. Cool completely before frosting.
Suggested Uses: Stir ½ to 1 tsp. of Simply Organic Peppermint Flavor into batter.
Black Forest Torte After cake has cooled for 10 minutes, remove from pan. Allow to completely cool. Cut cake in half and layer on a serving platter in the following order: cake, whipped cream, cherry pie filling, cake. Garnish with whipped cream, cherries, and chocolate curls.
