Frontier Natural Products Co-Op Appoints New Board Members
Annual member meeting elects two industry pros to help lead company

Norway, IA (February 24, 2011) — Frontier Natural Products Co-op™, a leading U.S. manufacturer of natural and organic products, has added two new members to its Board of Directors. Lindy Bannister and Grant Lundberg were introduced at the Annual Member meeting and replace retiring board members John Murray and Mike Cook.

Remarking on the addition of both members, Frontier CEO Tony Bedard stated, “The level and breadth of experience that Lindy and Grant bring to our board will further strengthen the strategic management of our co-op and position us to continue our double-digit growth rate over the past two decades. In addition, we can’t thank John and Mike enough for the invaluable contributions they made to the executive team at Frontier.”

Ms. Bannister has been the General Manager of The Wedge Community Co-op in Minneapolis, Minn., since 2005. She had a number of food-related jobs previous to that, including owning her own restaurant on Vancouver Island in Canada. Ms. Bannister worked in the conventional grocery industry for 21 years, eventually managing store outlets for Albertson’s and HEB across the western U.S. and in Texas. Her commitment to cooperatives is an expression of her personal business ethic of treating everyone fairly and doing the right thing without hesitation.

Mr. Lundberg grew up on the Lundberg family farm and then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Management and a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics before joining the family business in 1987. Mr. Lundberg was made CEO of Lundberg Family Farms in 1997. Mr. Lundberg resides in Durham, Calif., with his wife, Susie, and their two children.

The Frontier Board of Directors brings a broad range of experience in areas such as finance, business management, organic agriculture, co-op organization, and the natural products industry to the task of overseeing Frontier. There are six board members elected by the owner-members, two at-large directors appointed by the board, and an automatic position of Management Director filled by Frontier's CEO. The current members of the Frontier Board of Directors are Peter Backman, Lindy Bannister, Pedro Garcia, Gene Kahn, Grant Lundberg, Lynn MacDonald, Jesse Singerman, Adam Strauss, and Frontier CEO Tony Bedard.
