FAMILY OF FRONTIER NATURAL PRODUCTS CO-OP™ AT ATO 2008
New Simply Organic® Spice Grinders and Frontier Organic Fair Trade Certified™ Products Will Be Featured at Chicago’s McCormick Place

Norway, Iowa (April 21, 2008) —The spotlight will be on the Simply Organic Grinders featured at the 2008 All Things Organic™ Show April 27-29, at McCormick Place in Chicago. Frontier Fair Trade Certified Teas and Simply Organic Fair Trade Certified Baking Mixes will also compete for attention at booth #3408.

The innovative Simply Organic seasonings grinders provide fresh-ground organic flavor for homemade dishes. The six new organic spice blends are sourced from around the world and were chosen for their aromatic and exotic flavors. The consumer chooses coarse or fine grind spices by simply adjusting the grinder top.

Simply Organic's senior brand manager, Kory Kazimour, says the organic spice blends will be packaged in the signature Simply Organic glass bottle, with the addition of the clear grinder top. "Consumers see the fresh vividly multi-hued organic spices in each blend," says Kazimour. "They just select their grind preference and enjoy the aromatic and full-bodied flavors of freshly ground spices."

The new organic grinder line-up includes BBQ Ground Up, Chophouse Seasoning, Citrus A'peel, Daily Grind, Get Crackin', and Grind to a Salt. "By creating the first line of organic grinders," says Kazimour, "even the most inexperienced cooks can make their ordinary meat and vegetable meals taste extraordinary. Our new organic grinders were developed with the person of discriminating taste in mind," adds Kazimour "They create a whole new world of individual flavor sensations for those who enjoy new culinary adventures."

In addition to the new table-ready spice grinders, Frontier will also feature recently launched organic Fair Trade Certified Teas, organic peppercorns, and organic vanilla beans and extracts.

"We currently carry 18 bulk Fair Trade Certified organic loose-leaf teas and these additions continue our long-term commitment to supporting growers and their communities," says Ellen Bouchard, Frontier's bulk category manager. The five new high quality teas come from various tea estates in India and Nepal and are all Fair Trade and organic certified.

Frontier's seasonings brand manager, Brett Karminski, says the company drew upon its knowledge of spices and seasonings and its extensive supplier contacts in developing the line of organic peppercorns, vanilla beans and extracts. "We've learned a great deal in over 30 years of sourcing the highest quality herbs and spices from around the globe," said Karminski, "but we went even beyond that and worked with our suppliers to be able to offer new products that were not widely-available until now."

Rounding out the family of products on display will be Dead Sea Salts, skin care oils, and essential oils from Aura Cacia Organics. Mindy Seiffert, Aura Cacia’s senior brand manager, offered that, “As the market leader for aromatherapy products, we feel it’s important to include an extensive line of organic alternatives for consumers who prefer the quality our botanical producers can provide.”

Frontier has also recently completed a 2007 Sustainability Report detailing its sustainability initiatives in areas such as sourcing, products, operations, the environment and social giving. A major thrust of the company's sustainability activities includes Well Earth®, a new program to find and develop ethical sources of high quality products. The program has been fully implemented and expanded this year. Well Earth screens potential suppliers with an extensive questionnaire and on-site visits by Frontier sourcing managers to thoroughly evaluate product quality, operational sustainability, environmental practices, and social responsibility. The co-op expects to add at least 10 new Well Earth suppliers in the coming year.

"We want to raise awareness of the tremendous potential of sustainability," says Kathy Larson, Frontier’s Vice President of Social Responsibility, "in sourcing, operations and the many communities we are all a part of — from local to global marketplaces. Our industry provides the perfect launching pad for a collective awareness that changes the way businesses and consumers purchase and the way the world produces."
