Chai with Cardamom, Cinnamon, and Ginger

Pakistani waiters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, prepared this delicious tea for us. They claimed its spices help to cure the common cold. For breakfast, it is served with warm milk.

Ingredients
4 teaspoons high-quality loose-leaf Ceylon tea
4  green cardamom pods
4 teaspoons ground ginger
4 sticks cinnamon
4 cups boiling water
 honey, if desired
 milk, if desired
Directions
Combine tea and spices in boiling water. Cover and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain and add honey, if desired. Serve warm with milk, if desired.
