BUTTER CREAM FROSTING

1/3 cup melted butter
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups powdered sugar
2 beaten egg whites (pasteurized)

In a medium mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to blend the butter and vanilla. Slowly add in the powdered sugar. Mix until creamy. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until frothy and bubbly. Add to larger mix and beat all together until creamy, usually 2 to 3 minutes on medium-high speed. Can be used immediately or cover and refrigerate until use.

Makes approximately 1 cup.

Did You Know?
Vanilla extract may cause frosting to have a beige hue. Eliminate if need absolute white frosting.

Chef Suggests:
Place frosting in plastic sandwich or freezer bag, snip off corner and squeeze to drizzle on desserts and pastries. Knead glaze while in bag to warm for a thinner glaze.
Use other flavor extracts of your choice.
Color with natural food colorings.
