Springtime in Asparagus Soup

2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons vegan margarine
1  package (10-ounce) frozen cut asparagus (you can also use fresh)
1 cup vegetable broth
1 dash garlic powder
1 dash pepper
1 cup plain soy milk
Mix all of the ingredients, except the soy milk, together in a bowl and nuke, covered, for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from the microwave, let cool, and pour into a blender, puréeing until smooth. Return the mixture to a bowl, stir in the soy milk, and nuke until heated through.
