Roasted Walnut Halves
Ingredients
1/2 cup agave nectar
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup organic granulated {sugar}
2 teaspoons sea salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground {black pepper}
2 cups walnut halves (about 6 1/2 ounces)
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup organic granulated {sugar}
2 teaspoons sea salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground {black pepper}
2 cups walnut halves (about 6 1/2 ounces)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Bring the agave nectar, molasses, sugar, salt, and pepper to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Add the walnuts. Return to a strong simmer, and cook for about 6 minutes.
Set a rack on a baking sheet. Pour the mixture over the rack so that the liquid drains to the pan. Push the walnuts away from each other so that they do not stick together.
Transfer the rack holding the walnuts to a clean baking sheet and bake for 5 to 6 minutes, or until the nuts are browned and crispy. Watch the nuts carefully so that they don't scorch. Cool to room temperature before storing.
