Poppy Seed Waffles

Poppy seeds add interest to breakfast. They also partner well with strawberries and other fruit. These poppy seed waffles are delicious with a fruit syrup or fresh fruit on the side.

1 cup poppy seeds
3 cups milk
2 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon honey
2  eggs
1/2 cup wheat germ
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon sea salt
Heat poppy seeds in milk. Simmer for 5 minutes. Cool.

Combine milk and poppy seeds with oil, honey and eggs. In a separate bowl, combine: wheat germ, flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add liquid ingredients to dry and mix. Cook according to your waffle iron directions.
