Gingered Carrot Salad

1 teaspoon powdered ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 tablespoons molasses cane sugar or brown sugar or  honey
1/4 cup orange juice
1 pound carrots, grated or julienned finely
1/4 cup currants or 1/4 cup raisins
Combine spices, sugar, and orange juice in large bowl. Stir thoroughly to combine. Add carrots and raisins or currants. Toss to combine. Chill, covered, before serving.
