Plum Streusel
Ingredients
1 large egg
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup milk
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
40 small prune plums

Topping
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 tablespoon Chinese five-spice powder*
1/2 cup walnuts, broken into pieces

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9x9-inch pan.
In a large bowl, cream the egg, brown sugar, and butter. Add milk and stir to combine.
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt, and add to the creamed mixture. Set aside.
Mix together topping ingredients until crumbly and set aside.
Halve and pit the plums and arrange a layer in the bottom of the pan; top with half the batter, and half the topping; repeat.
Bake for 1 hour, or until golden brown.
*NOTE: You can make your own-our version uses equal amounts of ground ginger, allspice cinnamon, nutmeg, and Ease of Preparation: Moderate
