Well Earth vendors are first qualified by our purchasing department on our basic sourcing criteria. This includes demonstrating an ability to reliably provide botanicals that can meet our quality criteria.
The next step is an interview and visit with a qualified buying manager who will ascertain whether the supplier has a commitment and ability to meet Well Earth criteria. Vendors must also be willing to provide required information including access to records and facilities.
Vendors then complete a questionnaire and return it with supporting documentation. The three-person Well Earth Review Team reviews the materials.
If approved, then an on-site inspection is scheduled and conducted. A written inspector's report is submitted for review to the same three-person team and along with the information in the questionnaire and supporting documentation, scored against the Well Earth standards.
The supplier is then approved, approved with specific areas that need to be addressed within a certain time frame or denied. It is our intention to work with potential suppliers to support and assist them to meet Well Earth criteria.
Well Earth is a program open to farmers and vendors in the U.S. and around the world. There are no fees for participating. Interested in learning more? Contact us at wellearth@frontiercoop.com.
