Frontier Co-op to increase capacity in Benton County

Norway, Iowa (Oct. 16, 2020) – Frontier Co-op today released plans to expand its operations in Benton County bringing 24 new jobs and $7.3 million in capital investment to the area over the next two years.

In an effort to meet an increase in demand for its Frontier Co-op and Simply Organic herbs and spice brands, the company plans to add bottling lines and fillers, as well as expand the warehouse by 22,000 square feet at its Norway headquarters.

“We continue to face unprecedented demand for our products and are grateful for the opportunity to keep expanding in Benton County,” said Chief Executive Officer Tony Bedard.

The project was also awarded tax benefits through the state’s High-Quality Jobs (HQJ) program for four of the new positions created. The co-op already employs more than 600 employees at its Norway, Urbana, Belle Plaine, and North Liberty locations.
