Statement to Frontier Co-op Family During COVID-19

Statement to Frontier Co-op Family During COVID-19
April 6, 2020

Over the past several weeks, all of our lives have changed significantly. Our hearts go out to everyone who has been affected by the worldwide effects of COVID-19.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone working on the frontlines to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our communities. This includes the health care professionals, public safety officers, public employees, caretakers, service providers and laborers doing everything they possibly can to keep our world functioning.

As each day brings a set of new challenges, we wanted to let you know how we are continuing to care for our employees, their families and the communities we serve. For over 40 years, our purpose here at Frontier Co-op has been “Doing Good, Works” This rallying cry has guided every decision we’ve made – and it remains the same today.

Doing good, works for our employee safety and health.
The most important priority we have is to ensure the safety and health of our employees and their families. While we want to give employees an opportunity to work, we also want to give them the time they need to care for themselves and their families.  Because of this, employees that have been personally impacted by COVID-19 have been given an additional two weeks of paid leave.

And, to support employees who can work, we have given all of our operations staff a $2.00 per hour increase in pay during this crisis. We are also keeping our onsite childcare services open with heightened requirements related to access and sanitization.

Doing good, works for our product quality and safety.
Deemed a critical infrastructure supplier for the U.S. Food and Agriculture Sectors during the COVID-19 response, we have an important job to do. And while there is no evidence of food or food packaging associated with  COVID-19 transmission, we have taken all the steps  any good  food and personal care  product manufacturer  should  to maintain  both  food safety and the personal safety of our employees and our customers.

Doing good, works for you.
All of this work has to be done without forgetting that you need us  now  more than ever.  You rely on us for culinary, wellness and self-care products, especially during this time, and it’s important that we continue to be here to support you.

Together, we can overcome the challenges we all face, and you can be sure that Frontier Co-op will continue to make sure that doing good, works.

Sincerely,

Tony Bedard
