Glugg is a mulled Swedish beverage. Use any red wine you prefer for this recipe.


  • 1 bottle dry red wine

    1/2 cup golden raisins

    1 cup aquavit (caraway-flavored Swedish liquor), or gin or vodka

    1/2 cup Frontier Co-op Cane Sugar

    1 tablespoon Frontier Co-op Whole Cardamom Seeds

    1 1/2 tablespoons Frontier Co-op Orange Peel

    6 Frontier Co-op Cloves

    2 Frontier Co-op Cinnamon Sticks

    2 Frontier Co-op Crystallized Ginger Cubes, finely chopped

    1/2 cup blanched whole almonds


    1. Warm the wine, raisins, alcohol and sugar in a saucepan over low heat.

    2. Combine spices and peels in cheesecloth or a muslin bag and add to the saucepan. Simmer uncovered (don’t boil).

    3. Ladle into cups and add almonds, a cinnamon stick and a ginger cube.



    Serve with a spoon so your guests can retrieve every last raisin and almond!
