Ingredients

  • 1½ cups hot water

2 tablespoons Frontier Co-op Vegetable Broth Powder

2 tablespoons olive oil + additional for serving

2 teaspoons Frontier Co-op Garlic Flakes

    2 tablespoons tomato paste

2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce

1 tablespoon Frontier Co-op Fair Trade Organic Cane Sugar

1 teaspoon Frontier Co-op Kosher Flake Sea Salt

Frontier Co-op Black Pepper, for serving

Directions

    1. In a 2-cup glass measuring cup, mix hot water and vegetable broth powder, and set aside.
    2. Heat a pot over medium low-heat. Add olive oil and garlic flakes and let cook for about one minute, until fragrant. Stir in tomato paste and cook for one to two minutes more, until well combined.
    3. Stir in tomato sauce, sugar, salt and 1 cup of the broth. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and let cook for 10 minutes. If too thick, add a bit more broth as desired. After 10 minutes, taste and adjust salt if desired.
    4. Divide soup into 4 bowls; top with olive oil and black pepper, and serve.
