An above-the-norm au gratin potatoes recipe featuring Swiss and Gruyere cheeses, flavored-up with our Canadian Steak Seasoning.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and sliced 1/8-inch thick
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup (use tapioca flour, sweet rice flour or Frontier Co-opĀ® Cornstarch for a gluten-free version)
- 5 cups milk
- 4 tablespoons Frontier Co-opĀ® Organic Canadian Steak Seasoning
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Gruyere or Swiss cheese
Directions
- In medium saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.

- Remove from heat, add cheeses, and allow cheeses to melt. Return to heat if needed to melt cheese.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a 9-x-9-inch baking dish, place 2 layers of sliced potatoes, then pour 1/3 of cheese sauce over potatoes. Repeat this layering 2 more times.
- Cover dish and bake for 1 hour. Remove cover and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
- We suggest using large russet potatoes, but other potatoes can be used as well.
- When cooking the butter and flour, it should smell faintly like burnt popcorn, which is the point that it is ready.
