The Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) Food Reservoir is a nonprofit organization committed to providing food to the hungry. A Feeding America network member agency and American Institute of Baking (AIB) food safety accredited food bank, the HACAP Food Reservoir works in collaboration with community partners and businesses along with 105 non-profit partner agencies in seven counties of Eastern Iowa.

The program secures food from the community food drives, the corporate sector, and government programs and partners with food pantries, on-site meal congregations, treatment centers, homeless shelters, and day care centers to distribute low- or no-cost food daily to a diverse population of families and individuals. In 2016, the HACAP Food Reservoir distributed 5.1 million pounds of food to the community, which is equal to 4.25 million meals.

Part of Frontier Co-op's 2017 local giving initiative was to make a donation of $45,000 to one of the Food Reservoir's key programs, the Mobile Food Pantry.

The Mobile Food Pantry extends the Food Reservoir program into the area's food deserts (areas with no or limited food pantries, limited affordable food stores, and/or transportation barriers to access food for low income residents).

The year-round mobile food pantry truck brings food to areas in greatest need of food access, providing a variety of healthy food options to the food insecure in the communities where they reside. The program is currently operating in three counties and HACAP hopes to expand mobile pantry services to all seven counties the Food Reservoir serves.
