Ginger complements the nutty taste and aroma of basmati rice in this flavorful and aromatic fried rice recipe. You can substitute your favorite brown or white rice, if you prefer, and still experience the exceptional flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

    1 tablespoon sesame oil

    1 large onion, chopped

    4 cups cooked basmati rice

    2 tablespoons soy sauce

    1 teaspoon Frontier Co-op Cane Sugar

    1/4 teaspoon Frontier Co-op Garlic Powder

    1 to 2 teaspoons Frontier Co-op Ground Ginger Root

    1/2 tablespoon Frontier Co-op Cilantro

    1 pinch Frontier Co-op Sea Salt

    1 pinch Frontier Co-op Black Pepper

    2 tablespoons chopped scallions or green onions (optional)

Directions

    1. Heat oils in a large skillet. Sauté onion until tender and translucent.

    2. Add rice to skillet.

    3. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, and spices. Stir into rice and cook until hot throughout, about 10 minutes.

    4. Sprinkle scallions over top if desired, and serve.
