You can easily make your own tahini from sesame seeds. This basic recipe toasts the seeds to bring out their nutty flavor and uses a food processor to turn them to paste.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Frontier Co-op Sesame Seeds

  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil

Directions

    1. Gently toast the sesame seeds (stirring constantly) in a saucepan on medium low for 5 minutes, or until slightly golden. Then, let them cool to room temperature.

    2. Once the sesame seeds have cooled, add them to a food processor. Blend on high until the seeds become a paste.

    3. Add the olive oil and blend to create a creamy consistency. If the consistency needs further thinning, add water until it reaches the consistency of a soft paste or thick sauce, according to your preference.
