Glögg is a mulled Swedish beverage that warms and satisfies. Use any red wine you prefer for this recipe. Check for the spices in the bulk aisle of your local co-op or other natural foods store.

Ingredients
- 1 bottle dry red wine
- 1/2 cup golden raisins
- 1 cup aquavit (caraway-flavored Swedish liquor), gin or vodka
- 1/2 cup Frontier Co-op® Organic Cane Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Frontier Co-op® Whole Organic Cardamom Seeds
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Frontier Co-op® Organic Orange Peel
- 6 Frontier Co-op® Whole Organic Cloves
- 2 Frontier Co-op® Organic Cinnamon Sticks
- 2 Frontier Co-op® Organic Crystallized Ginger Cubes, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup blanched whole almonds
Directions
- Warm the wine, raisins, alcohol and sugar in a saucepan over low heat.
- Combine spices and peels in cheesecloth or a muslin bag and add to the saucepan. Simmer uncovered (don’t boil).
- Ladle into cups and add almonds, a cinnamon stick and a ginger cube.
- Serve with a spoon so your guests can retrieve every last raisin and almond!
