A protein-filled take on cooked rice, this recipe features the meaty texture and great umami flavor of shiitake mushrooms. Serve this side dish as is or add vegetables or meat for a more well-rounded meal.

Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 3 cups reconstituted Frontier Co-op® No-Chicken Broth Powder, or chicken broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup Frontier Co-op® Shiitake Mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon Frontier Co-op® Ground Sage
Directions
- Cook 1 cup of rice in 3 cups of chicken broth, following package directions.
- Cut shiitake mushrooms to bite sized pieces.
- Sauté onion and shiitake in butter for 15 minutes.
- Add rice and sage and cook until rice is thoroughly warmed.
