Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and all of the spices. Whisk constantly for 4 minutes, until glaze starts to thicken and sugar dissolves. Remove from heat.
  3. Place ham on a large roasting pan, allowing juices from ham to run into pan.
  4. Using a basting brush, generously brush entire surface of ham with glaze mixture, reserving some glaze for additional basting. Cover ham with aluminum foil and bake for about 10 minutes per pound, basting ham with additional glaze every 15 to 20 minutes. Ham will be done when internal temperature reaches 140 degrees (approximately 80 minutes total).
  5. When ham is getting close to being done (about 20 to 30 minutes out), remove foil and baste with remaining glaze. Return to oven, uncovered, to bake for 20 to 30 additional minutes. This will allow glaze to caramelize on top.
  6. Once ham has reached 140 degrees, remove it from oven and let it rest at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes before serving.
