Ingredients

Directions

  1. Make the Lavender Earl Grey Simple Syrup: in a saucepan combine the water, 2 cups sugar, 3 tablespoons lavender flowers and the Earl Grey Tea leaves. Stir and bring to a boil, then reduce to low and let simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let steep until cool. Strain into a jar and chill. (Store unused portion in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.)
  2. Make the lavender sugar for rim: In a deep bowl, combine remaining 1 cup sugar and ½ cup lavender flowers, and mash together with a pestle. Or, pulse in a food processor until well blended.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, Lavender Earl Grey Simple Syrup, lemon juice and ice. Shake well and strain into cocktail glass, then garnish with a lemon wheel if desired.
  4. Place desired amount of lavender sugar into a wide lid or on a plate. Wet rim of cocktail glass with lemon wedge, then dip rim into lavender sugar. (Store unused portion of lavender sugar in an airtight container.)
