White Pepper and Cranberry Cookies

The milder, subtler flavor of white pepper is perfect for adding a little unexpected pizzazz to desserts. These yummy whole wheat cookies emphatically make the point that versatile pepper can enliven more than just savory dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat pastry flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon Frontier Co-op White Pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon Frontier Co-op Sea Salt

  • 1/2 cup softened coconut oil

  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 cup cranberries

Directions

    1. Whisk flour, baking powder, pepper and salt. Set aside.

    2. Beat the coconut oil and coconut sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and combine. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir to combine. Add in the cranberries.

    3. Scoop the cookies onto a sheet and bake at 350 degrees until cookies are golden on the bottom and edges, about 12 minutes.
